Saints Opening Playoffs with Same Mentality as Regular Season

Posted: Updated:

The Carroll Saints football team has their first round playoff game this weekend hosting Valley City State. The Saints enter the playoffs as the number one team in the NAIA, but it's been a long road to get there. After a week one loss to Southern Oregon it's been playoff mode ever since for Carroll, and the Saints know that a one loss valley city state team won't be easy but that playoff mentality they've had all season should help them.

"They're a good team," said Saints senior running back Dustin Rinker. "I mean first round in the playoffs, it's really the playoffs now, we were treating it like it all year. It's do or die so we've got to come out and execute.

"A lot of the classes before me did a great job at picking up the intensity, and showing how much time we really need to put in," said Saints senior linebacker Sean Blomquist. "We all try to give a little extra in the playoffs. We need to. It has to happen."
