Huestis Items to be Raffled for United Way Fundraiser

Posted: Updated:
This Holiday Season, you can help others and have a chance to get some very neat basketball memorabilia from a Great Falls hometown hero at the same time.

The United Way is raffling off several signed items from former CMR and Stanford star Josh Huestis who is now playing in the Oklahoma City Thunder organization. You could win a pair of autographed shoes, a signed jersey, a hat and even a basketball. United Way Campaign Chairperson Linda Morin says Huestis agreed to help out within 30 seconds of getting the request for the signed items. The organization is hoping this find-raiser will help get them closer to their goal of raising $1.3 million dollars for 2014.

"It's just one more person in our community that wanted to give back and Josh Huestis, who we all know as our hometown hero, was very willing to autograph this memorabilia and donate it to us. So, we're selling raffle tickets to raise money for the United Way, which will benefit all the community and there are several different drawings, and one ticket gives you the opportunity to win," says Morin.

Tickets are 10 dollars a piece. You can buy them at the customer service desk at Scheels, The Peak Health and Wellness Center or  by calling the United Way at 727-3400. You can also call that number if you're interested in becoming a business sponsors. The auction is December 15th and the winners will be selected live during the 6 pm sports cast that night. You don't have to be present to win.
