Capital Girls Basketball Team Bigs Learning as they Go in 2014

HELENA - One team flying under the radar this year is the Capital girls basketball team. Last year the Bruins were one of the deepest teams in AA, making it all the way to the state semis led by senior posts Michaela Dowdy and Sierra Bignell. This year the Bruins will rely on 6'2" sophomore Mary Bryggman, 5'10" junior Tjaden Pallister, and 6'2" freshman Taylor Sullivan to make up their losses in the post. And with the lack of experience up front, the Bruins will need their guards to lead in 2014.

"We have three returning guards that I think are better than what any other people are going to put out there," said Bruins head coach Bill Pilgeram. Which means our posts are going to be less experienced. We do have size, we have a couple 6'2"'s. So we have some returners, it's just different names."

"When we're open we can take those shots because the post might not always be open," said Bruins senior guard Cassidy Burk. "And if we're open we should take it."
