Box Elder Bears Looking to Repeat in Class C

Posted: Updated:

After a perfect a season last year and a state championship, the Box Elder Bears now have the hardware. But they also now have a huge target on their back heading into this season.

"People want to beat that winning streak. We know people are going to be bringing their best game and we're looking forward to the challenge,"said head coach Jeremy MacDonald.

"I think we need to just worry about who we're going to play that night and the next team on our schedule and just go one at a time. it's good to look forward but if we're going to stay focused we need to worry about the task at hand," said senior point guard Brandon The Boy.

New year, new team. Despite losing some key players like Randall Gardipee and Thomas Parisian to graduation, this year's Bears team is still experienced, still talented and their chemistry might be better than ever.

"Chemistry is coming along really great and just off the court we're getting along. i think we get along better than last year," said The Boy.

"There's a lot of good experience from playing together. We built a lot of good chemistry in our group and I think we'll do good again this season," said senior Jerrod Four Colors.

Another state title is the goal for the Bears this season and as the favorite heading in, they're confident they can repeat.

"There are teams out there that can hang in there with us but I think we can do it again," said The Boy.

"I'm a hundred percent confident we can do it again. It's going to take a lot of work and it's going to be a huge challenge but we thinks e can get another one," said MacDonald.

Well until anyone can beat the Bears it's hard to argue with that, they're the defending state champs and are primed to do again in back to back seasons.
