Argos Finish Nonconference Play with Victory

The University of Great Falls men's basketball team wrapped up nonconference action with an 84-35 victory over King's (Alberta) University Friday at the McLaughlin Center.

The Argonauts (11-3) had six players in double figures as they defeated the Eagles for the second consecutive day.

Marcus Hurn scored 15 points to pace the Argos. Sergio Berkley had 13 points, TJ Harris added 12 and Dalton Groenewold scored 11 for UGF. The Argonauts also received 10 points each from Sigman Farmer and Maleek Singleton.

Daniel Arcau collected eight rebounds, while Farmer added seven and Chris Schlesser grabbed six. The Argos out-rebounded the Eagles 45-26.

The Argos led 50-15 at the half as they shot 58 percent from the field in the first half. UGF finished the game at 51 percent. King's was just 19 percent from the field in the first half and 24 percent for the game.

Keith Marshall scored 11 points and Daniel Libert added six for the Edmonton school. The Eagles committed 15 turnovers as the Argos tallied 10 steals.

UGF has won four straight. The Argos now turn their attention to No. 21 Lewis-Clark State, which comes to the McLaughlin Center Jan. 9 for the opening of Frontier Conference play. That game tips off at 7:30 p.m. The Argos also play host to Montana Tech on Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
