Senior Standout: CMR's Taylor Edwards

Posted: Updated:

"How much time do you have in your segment, because she's amazing," said Rustlers head coach Brian Crosby.

Seriously. Taylor Edwards of CMR is that impressive. Quite frankly, she epitomizes everything a senior standout is.

"Her leadership is above anyone I've ever been around. Her work ethic is above anyone I've ever been around and I think everyone knows how good of a basketball player she is. She's a tremendous basketball player on top of that so it's hard to quantify how many things she does well," said Crosby.

It's hard to put into words just how great Taylor is, but it's her words that demonstrate her maturity and understanding of the big picture.

"I know basketball is a platform for me and stuff like that to use to impact people but just being a friend, being kind, being a nice person. I think that really helps and rubs off on people," said Rustlers senior Taylor Edwards.

"She's so compassionate to everyone and everyone looks at her like wow, I want to be like Taylor Edwards," said Crosby.

Taylor's got the whole package. Not only is she a solid person but she can play some basketball. Last year she was 2nd team all conference and this year, Taylor is focused on making her senior year her best year yet.

"Just finishing out the year strong and knowing that this is my last year and the last time to be on the home court and stuff but just giving it my all and everything I have. Everything I've worked for every year, it all just plays out right here," said Edwards.

The last time Taylor and CMR played in the state tournament was her freshman year. And for a kid that embodies everything you want out of a student-athlete, it's hard not to root for her to get another chance.
