Helena High's Paul Hart Signs with Carroll

Carroll College head football coach Mike Van Diest announced to the signing of two Montana athletes; wide receiver Paul Hart from Helena and Benton Braesicke, a kicker/punter from Billings.

The two join five Montana players that previously signed with the Saints and bring the total number of commitments to 13.

"I am thrilled with the addition of these two student-athletes," head coach Mike Van Diest Said. "They are outstanding players but more importantly two great young men who will make a difference at Carroll College."

Paul Hart - 6-4 - 175 - WR - Helena, Mont. (Helena High)

This past season Hart received many off the field honors. He was named first-team all-conference and first-team all-state as a Wide Receiver at Helena High School. He was voted the Bengal's offensive MVP and will play at the East/West shrine game this summer. He was selected academic all state and carries a 3.2 GPA. Hart is also a hockey player for the high school level team and was on the 2012 state championship team.

Benton Braesicke - 5-10 - 165 - K/P - Billings, Mont. (Billings Central)

Braesicke was an all-conference kicker in 2013 and 2014 for Billings Central high school. He was also an all-conference selection as a punter this past season. For his career at Central he was 7/9 on field goals and kicked 77 PATs as a senior. Twenty six of Braesicke's kickoffs went for touchbacks. He is a four-year letterman and carries a 3.0 GPA.

On Monday, Feb. 9, Van Diest will be on hand at the weekly Saints Sports Zone at Lewis and Clark Brewery to discuss this year's signing class. There will be fan give-a-ways, free pizza and a question and answer session with coach Van Diest about recruiting.
