Senior Standout: Belt's Parker McCafferty

Posted: Updated:

I try to bring enthusiasm and intensity every night no matter who we're playing," said Parker McCafferty, Huskies Sr. Guard.

Parker McCafferty goes a mile a minute. It's zero to one hundred, real quick. But sometimes, maybe too quick.

"He's got a great motor. defensively, offensively he's always playing at a high rate of speed. lot of times, matter of fact, we try work on slowing him down a little bit and changing speeds but he's got a great motor and plays with high intensity," said Kyle Paulson, Huskies head coach.

As the senior leader for the Huskies, Parker takes ownership of being the team's point guard, but it's his defense and effort that he takes pride in the most.

"My defense has been working really well. I mean, coming off knee surgery I was skeptical on how my knee would do but it's putting up really well right now and my defense is really far along," said Parker McCafferty, Huskies Sr. Guard.

"I think his defense is great. We got at it every day. I just admire his defense, he's always working hard, gets a lot of steals. And he's a threat on offense, don't count that out but I just like his defense - he pushes so hard at it," said Koltin Haugrose, Huskies Jr. Guard.

Parker is a lock-down defender that Coach Paulson says is next level ready. But Paulson also recognizes that Parker has matured into a good young man.

"He's a positive kid. He's a good-hearted kid, that's for certain. Sometimes I wish he had more of a mean streak in him but he's a good natured person and very respectful," said Paulson.

It doesn't take long to notice Parker. His energy and personality are contagious. And for the Belt Huskies, Parker is their motor. He's the leader that makes it all go
