Saints Softball Using First Victory as Motivation

Posted: Updated:
HELENA - The Carroll softball team is finally back from their first road trip in school history. The Saints played their first games last Friday, and they didn't have to wait too long for their first victory in school history, knocking off #15 Concordia in their second game of the day. Most programs can struggle early on, but not the case for the Saints. Carroll won two of their first three games last weekend and went 2-4 overall, proving that their first year could be an exciting one.

"It relieves some stress," said Saints head coach Aaron Jackson. "I didn't want to get to day two not having a win, and I knew we had a tough day ahead of us on that first day. If you would have told me it was going to happen that day I don't know if I would have believed you."

"It felt really good," said Saints freshman shortstop Taylor Otswald. "We've been in the gym, outside, and when it snows we even go outside and practice. And it just feels good that we're putting in all the work and it's finally starting to work together."
