Big Sky Basketball, Griz-EWU, MSU-Idaho

The road to the Big Sky Women's Basketball Championship goes through Missoula.  The Lady Griz defeated Eastern Washington today by a score of 69-59.  In this back and fourth game, Kayleigh Valley led the way with 19 points for Montana.  Kellie Rubel had a monster game as well as she had 12 points and nine rebounds.  The Lady Griz with the win clinched the Big Sky Regular Season Championship and will now host the conference tournament.

The Griz men were in Cheney for their meeting with the Eagles.  The Griz won a thriller at Reese Court 77-76 over the Eagles.  Martin Breunig led the way with 24 points for the Griz while making nine shots from the floor.  The Griz sit a half a game behind Sacramento State in the Big Sky standings. 

The Montana State Lady Bobcats defeated the Idaho Vandals today 71-62 in Bozeman.  With the victory the Lady Cats still hold the eighth and final spot for the Big Sky Women's Tournament with only one game left.

The Montana State men lost a tough one to the Vandals in Moscow, Idaho today 80-73.  Both the Cats and the Griz men's and women's teams have one game each remaining.  That game happens to be against each other as the Brawl of the Wild is back in Bozeman on March 7th.
