New Administrator Named For Montana Law Enforcement Academy

Posted: Updated:

HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Attorney General Tim Fox has announced that Glen Stinar will be the new Montana Law Enforcement Academy administrator.

Fox made the announcement Wednesday, saying Stinar's diverse background makes him uniquely qualified for the job.

Stinar will be charged with managing the academy which trains the state's city, county and state law enforcement officers.

Stinar has been a detention officer, deputy town marshal, sergeant with the Great Falls Police Department and most recently managed training programs at the academy. He also served in the U.S. Army in both active and reserve capacities and holds a bachelor's degree from Allied American University.

Stinar's first day on the job will be March 9. He succeeds Kevin Olson who managed the academy for 10 years and left for a position with the Montana Department of Corrections.
