The University of Great Falls softball team won twice Wednesday on the first day of a six-day, 12-game road trip.

UGF defeated Siena Heights (Mich.) 8-0 and topped Eastern (Pa.) 11-1. Both games were shortened to five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Kirstie Thomas drove in three runs, Mindy Larson drove in two, and Keeley Van Blaricom scored two runs. Kayeley Lyons also had two base hits.

Van Blaricom pitched all five innings to pick up the win in the circle. She struck out four while allowing two hits.

In the victory over Eastern the Lady Argos scored four in the second and broke the game open with five runs in the top of the fifth.

Larson had two hits including a triple, and drove in three runs. Lyons had three hits, scored three times and drove in two runs, while Morgan Robinson drove in a pair and scored a run.
