Capital Girls Parade in Helena to Celebrate Championship

Posted: Updated:
HELENA - Wednesday afternoon, the Capital Bruins girls basketball team took to the streets to celebrate their first state championship in school history.

The Bruins were paraded around on a Lewis and Clark county fire truck around Helena so that residents could show their support for the champion Bruins. It's only been four days since the girls won their state championship so they say that this really makes it sink in.

"I think it's started to set in over the last couple days when everyone has been congratulating us," said Bruins senior guard Rayna Pilgeram. "And this will really make an impact and let it settle in."

"I've just seen everyone making that ride after they win the state championship," said Bruins senior guard McKenzie Johnston. "So now that it's our turn it's a really cool feeling. Just noticing everyone congratulating us will be a really cool feeling."
