Carroll's Taylor Named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American

Zach Taylor was named to the Honorable Mention All-American Team the NAIA announced Wednesday.

Taylor was one of five Frontier Conference players to be named to the honorable mention team. Dexter Williams Jr. from Montana Western received a second-team nod, he was the lone player from the conference were named to the first, second or third teams.

The sophomore led the Saints with 17.2 points per game, tallied 87 assists and grabbed 128 rebounds on the season. He led Carroll to an 18-11 record, the first winning season since 2011-12 for the Saints. His 17.21 points per game was good enough for second in the Frontier behind fellow honorable mention team honoree Adam Greger from Montana Tech.

"To be recognized among the best NAIA players in the nation is a tremendous accomplishment for anyone, especially a sophomore," head coach Carson Cunningham said. "Zach had an awesome year and is a fantastic young man. He's already hard at work to make sure the Fighting Saints build upon the tremendous progress the team made this season."

Taylor was also named First-Team All-Conference this season and was named Frontier Freshman of the Year for the 2013-14 season.
