Kowalchuk leads Lady Argos at Westminster Invite

University of Great Falls women's golfer Gina Kowalchuk shot a 77-81-158 to finish fourth at the Frontier Conference event held by Westminster College at TalonsCove Golf Course.

Kowalchuk's performance highlighted UGF's sixth-place finish in the team standings as the Lady Argonauts shot a 365-386-751 in the two-day and two-round event. Lewis-Clark State won the women's team competition as the Warriors shot 320-327-647 to outpace the 337-334-671 turned in by host Westminster.

Taylor Kuntz led the UGF men as his 78-77-80-235 was good for 17th place. The men's competition featured two 18-hole rounds Monday and one 18-hole round Tuesday.

The UGF men finished sixth with a two-day score of 353-346-371-1,070. LCSC also won the men's team competition with a 292-281-306-879 to top Westminster by 10 strokes.

Other competitors for the UGF women included Kelsey Sage (92-93-185) who placed 20th; Katie Buschhorn (93-105-198) who placed 27th; Cindy Pitkin (105-107-212) who placed 33rd; and Ashton Smith (103-111-214) who placed 35th.

In addition to Kuntz, UGF's Garrett Adair (80-79-86-245) placed 32nd, Shad Pepion (94-92-101-287) placed 42nd, Logan Donisthorpe (101-98-104-303) placed 44th and Logan Livingston (103-109-121-333) finished 45th.
