Carroll Football Using Summer to get Bigger and Smarter

Posted: Updated:

The Saints are officially in their summer workout portion of the year following their final spring scrimmage last Saturday. Coaches are now checking out the film on their guys from both scrimmages and determining what each individual player needs to do in order to be ready for fall. But when we asked players and coaches what exactly they thought needed to be worked on this summer, they said it was pretty simple.

"We've got to keep lifting," said Saints junior quarterback JT Linder. "That was kind of the biggest thing he was talking about. We've got to get stronger as a team as a whole. So going into the summer that's the focus is putting on some more weight and getting guys to bulk up."

"I want guys to develop a better football IQ," said Saints head coach Mike Van Diest. "I want them watching more film. I want them asking more questions. I want them meeting with their coaches. I want them meeting with each other by positions. I want them learning the game of football."
