Wagenmann, Singleton Sign with NFL Teams

Posted: Updated:

After seven rounds of the NFL Draft completed, no player from Montana or Montana State was selected by an NFL organization. However, former Montana defensive end Zack Wagenmann and Montana State linebacker Alex Singleton signed free agent contracts immediately following the draft.

Wagenmann, a former standout Grizzly defensive end, signed with the Arizona Cardinals. As senior at UM, the 6-foot-3 1/2, 247-pounder tallied 17.5 sacks, 22.5 tackles for loss and six forced fumbles while earning the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year honor. He also finished third in third in Buck Buchannan Award voting for the best defender in the Football Championship Subdivision. Wagenmann's 37.5 career sacks are best in Montana history and he ended his career on four All-America teams.

Singleton, a 6-foot-3, 239-pound linebacker who earned first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors as senior, signed with the Seattle Seahawks. As a senior, Singleton recorded 136 tackles including 15 tackles for loss and as a junior, he had 110 tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss.
