Bengals Softball Hoping to Ride Momentum into State

Posted: Updated:

The Helena Bengals host Sentinel Thursday afternoon in a best of three series to see who goes to state. Over the season the Bengals swept the Spartans and won by a combined score of 13-4. But it's not those games that give them confidence, it's their games last weekend. The Bengals were mercied by Billings West, and then had to come from behind to get a win over Skyview. So they're hoping that momentum can help them punch their ticket to state.

"As far as momentum is concerned we had to come back and tie it up in the bottom of the 7th, and then go win it in the 8th," said Bengals head coach Ryan Schulte. "I think that was a very positive thing for us going into the play in game. And I think the girls are ready to go."

"It definitely creates excitement, and that leads over to any game," said Bengals senior outfielder Tylar Holland. "Especially when you have practices in between. Just excitement from having a good game carries over."

Game times are at 12:30, 2:30, and 4:30 if necessary at Mihelish Field in Helena.
