Griz Guard Gregory Hopeful to Play Overseas

Posted: Updated:

"It seems like yesterday that I got here on campus as a freshman and it's been a great four years here so i really can't complain," said Former Griz Guard Gregory.

After graduating Jordan Gregory's playing days in a Griz uniform are over. Gregory finished ranked 14th in school history with 1,234 career points and now has signed with an agent and hopes to continue playing overseas.

"Every guy who comes in to college that is the goal to eventually get paid to play but I didn't think I would be after my freshman year then maybe after my sophomore and junior year. Then I started bad in my senior season so I was calling my parents asking them how to get a job," said Gregory.

But his senior season would end up pretty good as he scored the seventh most points in a single season in school history. That set him up to be able to get on the radar of teams overseas, which is exciting but also daunting as he has no idea what country he could end up going to.

"It's nervous not knowing what you're getting yourself into, unlike when i came to Missoula it os truly the great unknown and that is what's scary," said Gregory.

So now all he can do is train and wait. Gregory hopes to hear by the end of the month or early June on whether or not he will get a contract.

"I think that's every little kids dream and if that were to happen it would be the culmination of 22 years of hard work so I am hoping for the best and I will work hard to try and reach that goal so we will see what happens," said Gregory.
