The 26th Lewis and Clark Festival

The 26th Lewis and Clark Festival will take place at Gibson Park in Great Falls on June 19th and 20th.

The free event will include live music, food vendors, professional Native American dancers, beaver skinning demonstrations and other attractions. The ful schedule is as follows:

Friday, June 19

  • 12 p.m. Honor Guard: Opening Ceremony with Black Powder demo
  • 1 p.m. Austin Haney: Undaunted Anglers – Methods of fishing used by the Corps
  • 2 p.m. Darian Kath: Medicine – Learn the basics of how medicine was used on the Expedition
  • 3 p.m. Norman Anderson: Navigation and Mapping the Expedition
  • 4 p.m. Dugan Coburn/Arlan Edwards: Etiquette and Native American lodges
  • 5 p.m. Jeff LaRock: Blue Print for Discovery
  • 7 p.m. Thundering Guns: Firing demonstration of the Swivel gun and other firearms of the Expedition
Saturday, June 20
  • 9:55 a.m. Honor Guard: Flag Ceremony with Black Powder demo
  • 10 a.m. Dugan Coburn: Uses of Indian Hemp
  • 11 a.m. Joe Grassechi: Music of the Corps
  • 12 p.m. Casey Wiley: Having Fun with Animals and Guts
  • 1 pm Mike Staigmiller/Dugan Coburn: Fire Starting
  • 2 p.m. Norman Anderson: Dress For Success – Clothing Worn by the Corps
  • 3 p.m. Dugan Coburn/Arlan Edwards: Etiquette and Native American lodges
  • 4 p.m. LeAnne Wipf: Giant Springs and the Corps
  • 5 p.m. Walt Walker: Weapons of the Corps
  • 6 p.m. Darian Kath: Medicine – Learn the basics of how medicine was used on the Expedition
  • 7 p.m. David Walburn Concert

    According to Montana Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old Missoula man is dead after crashing his motorcycle just after 8:00 pm Friday. The accident happened on US Highway 93 southbound near Lolo. According to troopers, the driver failed to negotiate his Harley Davidson at a lefthand curve, and struck the concrete barrier.
