AA Chargers Need Wins to Make State Tournament

Posted: Updated:

The Legion baseball season is winding down and the AA Chargers need wins fast to qualify for the state tournament which is 15 days away.

The Chargers are in a bit of a rebuilding situation under first year head coach Levi Johnson, and with a 2-14 record in conference, the Chargers have seven games left to make a move in the standings. Last place Great Falls trails Butte by one game and will have a chance to pass the Miners by beating them in a double header on Friday in Butte. The Chargers focus heading into the final stretch is on themselves and winning as many games as possible.

"Right now we're just focused on taking care of ourselves," said Chargers head coach Levi Johnson. "We've got to win, and if things fall into place for us then they do. And if not then we only have ourselves to blame for it."

"I definitely feel like the chemistry is very good on this team," said Chargers senior infielder Jake Lowry. "We're just young. We'll be good in two years or so, but honestly our chemistry is great."

Again, the Chargers play in Butte on Friday, then host Missoula for one nine inning game on Saturday starting at three at Centene Stadium.
