HELENA -

Helena runner Heather Lieberg has been preparing to head to Beijing to run for the US World Team at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships, as well as the US Olympic Trials for the past 18 weeks, and now she's finally headed there. Lieberg joins Ann Danzer as the only other Helena woman to qualify for the trials. This morning she flew to Beijing to prepare for the marathon in the World Track and Field Championships, which will be held on August 29th Montana time. Heather has won three Governors Cup marathons, and took the Cup's 10k in record time as well as the Missoula half marathon with another record time this year, and as she flies to Beijing she hopes she isn't done breaking records

"I'm just expecting a good experience, a good run," said Lieberg. "I'm hoping to improve my personal best in the marathon. So I'm just hoping for a strong race so that when I go to the Olympic Trials I have a really good confidence builder from this race. So I'm excited. It'll be a good experience."
