Bengals Not Thinking of Last Season Facing CMR

Posted: Updated:

This Friday the Helena High Bengals travel to CMR to take on the same Rustlers team that eliminated them in the state semis last fall. The Bengals enter this year's match up 2-0 with wins over both Kalispell schools. In 2014 the Bengals were the only team in the regular season to hold Andrew Grinde under 100 rushing yards in a game the Bengals won, but they couldn't duplicate that success in the playoffs. That was last year, which Helena High says is in the rear-view mirror.

"It's going to be an emotional game, just like every game is an emotional game," said Bengals senior quarterback Jackson Thennis. "You've got to play every game the same way. A lot of us returners will remember that game, but it's not the thing that's in the front of our minds as much as just going out and playing our best game."

"Having a little experience playing against that offense always helps, but really it will be a new team," said Bengals junior linebacker Kendall Johnson. "We've got to learn the best way that we can and hopefully pull out a win."
