Townsend Football Moving on from Loss of RB Bair

Posted: Updated:

The visiting Townsend Bulldogs will take on Choteau with one less weapon than they had last week because senior running back Ryker Bair went down with a leg injury that will cost him his senior season. That's left the Bulldogs scrambling to find his replacement, and means quarterback Jace Lewis, who already played a big part in the teams rushing attack, might have to shoulder even more of the load on Friday night. However, the defending champs aren't looking at this as a knock-out punch.

"We talked to the players early in the week and said our goals haven't changed," said Bulldogs head coach Travis Rauh. "We still feel that we can put a very successful football team on the field."

"Everyone else is just going to have to step up and make plays," said Bulldogs senior wide receiver Quade McQueary. "It's going to hurt not having him there, he's worked hard."

"I feel really bad for Ryker, he worked hard all year to get to where he was, he was running good," said Bulldogs senior quarterback Jace Lewis. "We've just got to move forward. We've moved some guys around, and I think we'll be just fine."
