Helena High Football Improves to 5-2 After Hellgate Forfeit

Posted: Updated:

There will officially be no football in the capitol city this Friday as the Hellgate Knights have forfeited their contest versus the Helena High Bengals. The knights only have 14 available upperclassmen because their roster has been reduced by injuries, sickness, and kids missing school. This is the first forfeit, since at least the very least, the 1950's. The Bengals will take the win, which actually improves their record to 5-2. Having an extra week to rest is nice, but it's the players that are feeling the loss of the this game.

"I feel real bad for especially our second string guys," said Bengals head coach Tony Arntson. "We've got a lot of seniors that don't get an opportunity to play every night, and this is one of those weeks that you hope to do that, and get a chance to get your number twos in. And I think they're real big weeks for AA teams to have this type of situation. I'm just crushed for those guys not to get that opportunity."
