Bison Hope to End Season with Crosstown Win

Posted: Updated:

The Great Falls High football team is getting ready for the battle of the year, a Crosstown game against CMR. With their playoff dreams dashed because of seven straight losses, the hope is to end the 2015 season with the biggest win of all.

"We're very excited. It's Crosstown. It's one of the biggest games of our season. I think one of the most important Crosstown's in the state. I think it's one of the most fun to play in," said senior quarterback Kaden Sukut.

Rewind to 2014, the Bison fell to the Rustlers 19-12 in a Halloween night Crosstown matchup.

Back to present time, this senior class is planning for success so they have a Crosstown win to talk about.

"If we can get a win, it will be something we can talk about as a senior class for years to come, and to have one more happy moment under the lights of Memorial Stadium will be a great thing for us," said Sukut.

"They've gotten the best of us for years, and they've got one last shot, and if we win, it's kind of a big deal," said senior linebacker August Woehler.

The Bison have been eliminated from post-season contention and would eliminate the Rustlers by beating them on Friday night.

"For us the seniors, this is it. For most of the kids on our team, we're not going to go off and play in college football, so to end our careers with a win against CMR to knock them out of the playoffs would be great thing for us."

Head Coach Matt Krahe is staying positive and optimistic about Friday's matchup.

It's an exciting game. It really is an experience, and everybody is pumped up. We really want to go out and compete hard and take certain facets of the game away from them, offensively and defensively, and see how it goes," said head coach Matt Krahe.

A game with a lot of hopes and dreams right in the heart of Great Falls.
