Krahe Steps Down as Head Football Coach at Great Falls High

Posted: Updated:

There will be a new head football coach at Great Falls High next season after Matt Krahe stepped down from the position on Monday.

Great Falls Public Schools Athletic Director Gary DeGooyer confirmed the news with KFBB Monday evening after Krahe let his players and staff know earlier in the day. DeGooyer says an official release will be issued on Tuesday.

The Bison began the 2015 season on a very promising note, winning their first two games. However, Great Falls High would not win again, ending with an eight game losing streak due in part to an assortment of injuries and a defense that allowed more than 41 points per game which was second worst in the Double A.

Krahe took the reigns of the program in 2010, replacing then head coach Gregg Dart who last led Great Falls High to the playoffs in 2008. However, Krahe was unable to lead the Bison back to the postseason during his six years at the helm.
