Prukop Confirms He Will Visit with Oregon this Weekend

Posted: Updated:

It looks like the Oregon Ducks could try to raid the Big Sky Conference yet again for a starting quarterback, and this time it appears Montana State could be the target.

Dakota Prukop has confirmed he will visit with the Ducks this weekend, and is "exploring his options" as to where he might play next season. Prukop will graduate this semester and has eligibility remaining, so he could play another season for a different school, a lot like Eastern Washington's Vernon Adams did this season after he left the Eagles for the Ducks.

During a meeting with media on Tuesday, Prukop repeatedly said it was possible he could stay at Montana State. He also said this was something he was considering for a while and talked to the previous coaching staff about. Prukop also alluded to being in contact with more than just Oregon, but did not specify what other schools he was talking to.

Cats head coach Jeff Choate, who was introduced by the Bobcats on Monday, released this statement regarding Prukop:

"Dakota has been a great Bobcat, a tremendous teammate and leader in this program. In the short time I’ve known him and his family there is no doubt he will achieve success in whatever pursuit he chooses. I respect his desire to look at all of his options and I certainly hope he chooses to remain in our program, but we will support his decision regardless.”

KFBB will continue to monitor this situation.
