January 1, Federal Student Aid will be available for college bound students. Montana's Student Assistance Foundation says high school seniors thinking about taking out loan and planning to stay in state should keep majors in mind that will allow them to pay those loans back.
According to the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, the most profitable professions statewide are Architectural engineers making around $100,000. They are followed by people in natural sciences, petroleum engineers and medical and health services who make an average of $75 to 100,000 annually. The lowest paying jobs in the state are in the field of environmental sciences, web developing and event planning. People in these positions take on salaries in the mid $30,000 range.
