Montana State Fund, the largest worker's compensation insurance carrier in Montana, is distributing $35 million in dividend checks to their policy holders across Montana.
Today MSF presented vans thriftway in Helena with a nearly $27,000 dividend to acknowledge their safety accomplishments in the workplace.
The dividend returns a portion of the worker's compensation premium back to policy holders, like Van's, who have made safety a priority leading to lower injury rates.
"Montana unfortunately has higher than average accident frequency rate. There have been improvements . Stores like Van's have taken action to improve workplace safety. But there is more that needs to be done statewide. So this is our way to get out and kind of, well the message."
MSF is distributing dividend checks to policy holders all over the state this month with the most amount of money going to Yellowstone County-nearly $5 million in dividends.
