New details today on yesterday's bomb threats in Helena and Butte. Police say yesterday's threats called in to the Lewis and Clark County court house, the state's Federal court house, and the Butte-Silver Bow County courthouse are all believed to be related.
Helena police say a clerk at the Lewis and Clark County court house received phone a call from an automated recording, similar to the other calls. That court house was evacuated.
Shortly after, the state Supreme Court house received a similar threat. Two K-9 units were sent to both locations. We are told bomb dogs found nothing and the buildings were both reopened around 5 pm. An additional bomb threat was received in Butte earlier today that Butte law enforcement say was similar to yesterday's. The building was once again cleared.
An investigation is underway with Butte law enforcement, Helena police, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to try and locate the origins of the calls.
No word on who could be responsible for the threats -- or how legitimate those threats were.
