Gianforte challenges Governor Steve Bullock with campaign integrity pledge

Posted: Updated:

Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte embarked on day two of his state-wide tour, to announce his candidacy.  While in Helena, Gianforte walked right up to the governor's office earlier this afternoon to leave his campaign integrity pledge for governor bullock to sign.  Gianforte has promised to avoid all special interest money, specifically from political action committees, or P.A.C.S   In leaving that integrity pledge with governor bullock, Gianforte is urging the governor to promise the same thing.

While at the Capitol we reached out to Gianforte about his challenge to the governor but he declined comment.  To recap, P.A.C.S are organized for the purpose of raising money and spending it to elect or defeat candidates.

Governor Bullocks campaign organizer replied to Gianforte's action by pointing out that Gianforte has dumped hundred of thousands of dollars into groups who lobbied against Montana's disclose act.
