Today Special Olympics Montana made an appearance at the nations capitol. Making their case for federal funding. Special Olympics Montana athlete Patrick Chapman of Great Falls and President Bob Norbie were among the Special Olympics representatives from 39 states on Capitol Hill today. The athletes are holding more than 250 meetings with their states congressional representatives to advocate for continued federal funding for the health and education services provided by Special Olympics. The advocates will educate their lawmakers about the consequences that arise from the stereotypes people with disabilities face and how that impacts their lives. Senator Steve Daines says, "Special Olympics plays an integral role in Montana and our nation and I look forward to continue to support them in working to make our communities a better place."
