Belt Lady Huskies Ready to Turn Switch During Districts

Posted: Updated:

Thursday the 8C District tournament kicks off in the Great Falls High field house with the Belt Huskies girls basketball team looking to defend their 8C crown as the top seed. The District tournament has been a good time for Belt the past few season, as they haven't lost in it since 2009. Last season the Huskies' streak of three consecutive Class C titles was snapped after a loss in round one, but they say they still remember how to turn it on in the post season.

"We really focus in practice we have to take things game speed," said Lady Huskies sophomore forward Dani Urick. "And we know once we get to tournaments things get more intense. We just have to take things seriously and get things going right away."

"We were prepared when we were little, because we watched the older girls go through tournaments, and win state tournaments," said Lady Huskies junior forward Kassie Hoyer. "So having that feeling of going into the playoffs we know what it is, we know expectations, and we just go in there and rock it."
