Northern C Preview: Belt Boys Ready for Title Defense

Posted: Updated:

The Belt Huskies enter the divisional as the defending tournament champions and will have the 1-seed out of the 8-C. The Huskies have a tough first round opponent with Chester-Joplin-Inverness who is the 2-seed out of the 9-C and the only team to beat Box Elder this season. The Huskies have plenty of fire power with all-state athletes like Koltin Haugrose and Matt Metrione but they anticipate that the Hawks will give their signature defense all they can handle.

"I don't know if it's quite an advantage because there's all good teams in the Northern Division," says Haugrose about having a 1-seed. "It's going to be a fun Northern Division. It's going to be fun, I can't wait. They're (CJI) a good team. Good athletes, they can shoot the ball. Pretty much everything. It's going to be a good game."

"We got the tough side of the bracket," says Junior Jess Bodner. "Chester is going to be coming out ready to play. They got a tough side over there and everyone is looking to knock us off."
