Current Montana state auditor and former legislator Monica Lindeen officially filed her candidacy for secretary of state today
Lindeen has served on the Montana Land Board* for over seven years and says she will continue to fight in keeping public lands accessible to the public if chosen as secretary of state.
Lindeen added, she will work to ensure same day voting continues to be an option for Montanans. The secretary of state serves as Montana's chief elections officer, oversees the business registration process and is one of five members of the state's land board which oversees Montana's state lands. Current secretary of state Linda McCullough is stepping down because of term limits.
