Governor Steve Bullock officially filed for re-election.
The governor was joined by his family and Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney.
Bullock is seeking a second term in office... He won in November of 2012 and was sworn in as the state's 24th governor in 2013.
During his first term, Bullock's platform centered on safekeeping Montana’s 300 million dollar budget surplus, known as the 'rainy day fund.'
Bullock has spearheaded the main street Montana project... What he calls 'a business plan for Montana by Montanan’s, and has promoted equal pay for equal work.
During his term Bullock, has also expanded Medicaid and signed the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe water compact.
Governor Bullock will be running with Lieutenant Governor Cooney, who took over when former lieutenant governor Angela McLean stepped down late last year.
Greg Gianforte has said he will also run for governor but has not officially filed.
