Jefferson Boys Peaking Before Divisionals

Posted: Updated:

The Jefferson boys basketball team will tip off Thursday at 9 AM against round-up in the opening round of the Southern B divisional in Billings. The Panthers are the top seed from the 5B after winning the district title a few weekends ago in Belgrade. The Panthers are anchored by post Trace LeTexier, who finished districts with a 30 point effort to knock off Big Timber. But whether its LeTexier, or the array of athletic wings the Panthers possess, they think they're a force to be reckoned with this weekend.

"If we outsize them or whatever it's nice to be able to throw it in and get it to Trace and get a bucket down there," said Panthers senior guard AJ Eckmann. "And if they're bigger sized or they're doubling down it's nice to have guys who can come out to the three point line to shoot and knock down shots."

"It's nice when I get the ball, and somebody does double down, I just see a body and I just throw it in that general direction," said LeTexier. "And the guards are athletic enough to go get it, and then spot up and shoot."
