Havre Girls Prepare for State A Basketball Tournament

Posted: Updated:

The Havre High Girls will be making their ninth state tournament appearance in the last ten years. Last year the Blue Ponies entered the state tournament as the defending champions but they fell in the semifinals to eventual champions Hamilton. The team enters this year's tournament with an overall record of 14-and-8 and will open up against Columbia Falls, who has the 2-seed out of the West.

"They're a very good team," says Senior Dani Wagner. "We've played them the past couple of years at state. They're tall and they're fast."

"We played them last year. I think it was the Saturday Loser Out," says head coach Dustin Kraske. "They got a really nice team. We'll have our hands full. It'll be good."

"I think we'll just have to play together," says Sophomore Marca Herron. "Play well like we did at out first game of divisionals. Just play good basketball."
