2016 KFBB to KC: Carroll Men's NAIA Tournament Preview

Posted: Updated:

It's been five yeas since Carroll has been to the national tournament, and they're looking to make up for lost time.

"This is my first time to the postseason in college," said Saints sophomore guard Ryan Imhoff. "We're all excited about it. I think this is everyone on the team's first time in postseason so it's a great experience for us all."

"We're just trying to be as best as we can be," said Saints freshman guard Matt Wyman. "The coaching staff has just done a great job of turning this program into what it is. We want to keep improving, keep getting more wins each season, and hopefully make it back here the next year and the year after that."

Part of the reason the Saints are so confident going into their first round match up is their 12-5 record this past season in the Frontier Conference, which they think was one of the more difficult ones in the country.

"Playing in the conference definitely helps us, but we know what we're up against," said Imhoff. "We've just got to play our game and hopefully come out with a win."

"We just want to be tenacious, execute, have fun, enjoy competing, and play really, really hard," said Saints head coach Carson Cunningham.

Tip off set for 2:15 Kansas City time between Peru State and Carroll. We'll have highlights, post game, and everything you need on our Thursday sportscast.
