GFCC Softball Prepares for Second Varsity Season

Posted: Updated:

The Great Falls Central Mustangs are preparing for their third season ever and second season as a varsity sport. Last year The Lady Mustangs finished 17-7 in their first varsity season en route to winning one game at the state tournament. This year the team returns four seniors, including one all-state selection and future UGF Argo Hanna Tarum. The team feels ready to build off last year's successful run to the state tournament.

"This year one of our main goals is to put ourselves in a position to play for a state tournament or a state championship," says head coach Eric Vincent. "I think they're hungry."

"And this year we have a lot of new girls but a lot coming back," says senior Hanna Tarum. "That's really good to have that experience that we got from last year."

"Knowing that we made it so far last year gives us more confidence knowing we can do that again," says Sophomore pitcher Allison Cantley. "Like it's a possibility we can go all the way this year."
