UGF Softball Ready for Six-Game Home Stand

Posted: Updated:

The UGF Softball team is one of the hottest teams in the Cascade Conference. The Lady Argos have won seven straight games (which includes two forfeits and a four-game game road sweep).

This weekend they will ride all that momentum into a six-game home stand, starting with the College of Idaho on Friday. This will be the second time this season that the two teams have met. They split a pair of games in Idaho back in March. UGF is currently ahead of the Yotes in the Cascade Eastern Division Standings, despite both having .500 division records. The Argos know they'll have to bring their A games if they want to hold on to second place.

"Just having that same mentality of scoring every inning. We can't relax and settle. We need to push and stay intense all game," says Senior Shortstop Mindy Larson. "We're trying to push for that first place spot so if we get these four [wins] this weekend I think we have a shot at that."

"I just think we need to play really hard defense," says Junior and former CMR Rustler Alissa Keeler. "No errors, just keep hitting the ball and the gaps and score every inning."
