Carroll Track Hoping to Qualify Many at Trudnowski Open

The Saints are down to only three meets left this season before nationals, and they'll be looking to get as many as possible qualified in those final meets. The Saints have already qualified 19 athletes, and coaches say that they expect to get eight more on Friday with what's expected to be great weather at Vigilante stadium. But as they come down the final stretch of their season they say it's a good opportunity to start peaking at home.

"Some kids already qualified, and won't peak until the last meet," said Saints head coach Harry Clark. "Some of these kids need to still peak to get qualified for nationals, and we treat them just a little bit different than everybody else."

"We get to sleep in our own bed, eat our own food, see our own friends, so that's always a huge advantage," said Saints junior high jumper and thrower Crystal Schmidt. "When we're on the bus for two, up to six hours, it does a toll on our legs. We won't have that body exercion, so that's going to be huge."
