Great Falls Central Announces New Girls Basketball Coach

Greg Horton will take over as the new girls head basketball coach at Great Falls Central. Horton replaces Angie Dowson, who has chosen to retire.

Coach Horton served as an assistant to Dowson the past two seasons and also the Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach for the last two season and was also the Defensive Coordinator for the Mustang Football program and Assistant Track Coach.

Mustang's Athletic Director Jamie Stevens told KFBB, "Over the years Angie has built our program into what it is today. We will miss her greatly but look forward to continued success with Coach Horton taking the lead."   

According to the press released issued by the school, Horton is a 2004 graduate of Great Falls High School, 2008 graduate of Dickinson State University and a 2016 Masters of Education graduate of MSU. In high school, he was a multi-sport athlete and at DSU he played football. Coach Horton brings a lot of enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for coaching athletes. Coach Horton is currently working on off- season tournament play this summer as well as strength and conditioning program for the Lady Mustangs.

Horton takes over a program that has made great strides the last two seasons, advancing to the Northern C Divisional Tournament both years, while winning the District 10-C and finishing with a 19-3 record this past season.
