CMR Softball Seeks Improvement Despite Undefeated Record

Posted: Updated:

CMR couldn't compete in crosstown softball earlier this week because of weather but the competition won't get any easier this weekend when they play their conference rivals Billings West.

The Bears are a team that consistently challenges CMR every year with quality pitchers such as Lexi Mayhood. CMR enters the match-up with an undefeated 9-0 record (4-0 Conference). The rustlers have outscored their opponents 115-24 so far this season  but they say there is still plenty that they can improve on.

"Unless we're all hitting 1.000, we can always be improving our swings," says head coach Lindsey Gustafson. "Defensively, we made three errors this last weekend and we need to have 0 Errors. That's our goal every single game"

"We definitely need to improve on a lot of things," says Senior 2nd Basemen Myla Robbins. "Hitting, Defense, everything can always be better."

"Communication. We can always improve on communication out on the field," says Junior 3rd Basemen Laura Poitra. "Knowing where the ball is going. Knowing who is catching those fly balls. Just always communicating."
