The Great Falls Gladiators have experienced the highs… winning two back to back Rocky Mountain Football league championships in 2010 and 2011.
They've also seen the lows after losing every game of the 2014 season. However, in 2015, the Gladiators started their ascent back to respectability, which the team made it to the first round of the playoffs, and they're looking even better this year.
"For the past couple of years, people started to write us off. We started to climb, we're decided that we're going to start working hard and be relevant again and the best way to be relevant is to make statements," said Derrin Gould.
The Gladiators are definitely making a statement this season, they're currently undefeated at 4-0, and they're ranked number one in the RMFL's Great North Conference.
"We've got a full team of warriors this year," said Nathan Steward.
"Our team this year. The talent is just incredible. The depth we have. We're playing together as a team which is a great improvement from last year. We're just seemed focused on each game. Just one game at a time," said Chavis Shaum.
Great Falls is getting done by dominating on both sides of the ball. The Gladiators rank second in their 12 team conference in points per game and points allowed. The Gladiators quarterback Shane Jurasek leads the conference in passer rating, yards and touchdowns. Head Coach Matt Kjono says his teams talent and mindset is what has them back on top.
"We expect to win every game and we expect to win every game big. Confidence wins. We got wins in championships beyond championships. Winning attitude is what we have here in Great Falls," said head coach Matt Kjono.
"What we're doing we're taking it game by game. Taking it baby steps and whatever can happen. We're not the team to beat, that's not in our eyes. We have to beat every team to gain that respect," said Michael Pease.
In order to maintain their success, the Gladiators are focusing on their fundamentals.
"Wrap up, hit hard and go home winners." said Steward.
