Absentee ballots get mailed today

Posted: Updated:

Absentee ballots for the June primary election are getting sent out today.

That’s more than 230-thousand absentee ballots in the state.   In Lewis and Clark county around 30 percent of voters in the county request to always have their ballots mailed.  That’s around 14,500 ballots sent out.

Secretary of State Linda McCulloch reminds voters that you MUST sign the return envelope.

All voters who signed up as absentee, should expect their ballots within 2 to 3 days and if you’re out of state it should be closer to a week.

You can sign up as an absentee voter all the way up to the day before the election.

The 232,731 absentee ballots being mailed will reach just over a third of the state's 645,000 registered voters.

County elections offices must receive absentee ballots before the close of polls on Election Day, which is June 7.
