Bob Stitt Signs Griz Fans Shirt, Helps Celebrate his 93rd Birthday
Tuesday night, the Grizzly Scholarship Association held it's annual 'University of Montana Coaches Barbecue' at the Mansfield Convention Center in Great Falls.
Long-time Great Falls resident Morty Boyd, and his bride of 54 years, Maggie enjoyed the festivities. Morty, who celebrated his 93rd birthday on Monday attended the U of M right after World War II, from 1946 to 1950. He was a member of the Phi Delt Fraternity and played on the University's golf team. He's still a big Griz fan, and was excited to meet the coaches, most notably head football coach Bob Stitt.
"I think it was fantastic, he did a wonderful job. It was a great move to bring him to the University," Morty says about Stitt.
Morty even had a chance to meet with Stitt to talk about how the football team is looking next year. He also got his 'Stitt Happens' T-shirt signed by the man himself! It was a pretty neat way to celebrate his 93rd birthday!
