Almost 1,000 people have come through the gates of the Missoula County Fairgrounds to celebrate the history of trapping, purchase tools and equipment from local venders, and enjoy the company of fellow trappers.
The expo shows off the deep history of trapping in the region and beyond, while also keeping the focus on modern day trapping with assorted venders selling equipment, tools, furs and much more; shining a spotlight on the Montana trapping community to those who have come to visit from all over the country.
"Montana trappers association is one of 53 affiliate members of the National Trappers Association and every year different organizations within that affiliate bracket can put in for hosting the National Western Regionals, and this year the Montana Trappers Association is the host," said Montana Trappers Association President Toby Walrath.
The fairgrounds were still full this afternoon on the last full day of the expo, showing the strength in numbers in the trapping community even to this day.
Organizations represented at the expo this week hail from all over the west coast, including Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
