The Carroll College track and field team got some final practice reps in yesterday before taking off for Gulf Shores, Alabama for the NAIA outdoor track and field nationals. The Saints are in the top ten of the nation in athletes qualified with 22, including 17 on the women's side. The Saints will be competing in 24 different events this year with their 22 athletes, and feel that by sheer numbers they have a great shot to place.
"It's a full team, and that's what we're excited about," said Saints head coach Harry Clark. "We're not just runners, we're not just throwers. Some schools are just runners, but we're a fully rounded team."
"It's fun having a bunch of people, like it's so hard to practice on our own," said Saints sophomore runner Brianna Olson. "We've had that experience having to practice on your own some of those days, but it's so much easier to have a bunch of teammates with you. It makes it fun to push each other."
